This wine shows a deep purple colour. The nose explodes with vanilla and menthol aromas, followed by strong blackberry and raspberry nuances. The mouth is starting with a round attack, followed by some structured woody tannins and a red fruits in the middle. This wine is ending with an amazing balance between its 12 month wood ageing and the perfect ripeness of its harvested grapes.

Amarone Classic comes from a careful selection of grapes in the vineyard and a very strict management of the apple. The grapes dedicated to the production of Auberge are the best exposed and the most spattered. The grapes resting is preceded by a very careful vineyard selection designed to eliminate damaged bunches and those that do not exhibit the ideal characteristics for quality grafting. The grapes are dried for about 120 days, after which vinification takes place. Winemaking is structured so as to encourage the release of the peel of all noble components. Amarone Classico is a wine that is very tied to the traditional production method, using only large volume wood containers; able to evolve the wine in the three years of aging without distorting the aromatic profile.

In the heart of the Langhe, in the hamlet of Bussia di Monforte d’Alba, is Cascina Sciulun, a typical historic farmhouse, constructed according to Piedmont architectural traditions. Built in the mid-nineteenth century and extended in the 1940s, the house has always belonged to the Conterno family. The company Franco Conterno has deep roots, and has been a part of the family for many decades. It was nonno Pietro who allocated 18 hectares of land to Nebbiolo vineyards, initially to sell to other wineries for vinification, later destined for the creation of prestigious wines. Fermentation temperature: variable with peaks of 32°C. Ageing in cellar: the new wine is kept from 3 months in steel tanks and undergoes malolactic fermentation; it is decanted several times, and finally aged in French oak barrels (45/50hl capacity) for 24 months.
