An attractive yellow gold robe. A very fine and fruity nose, where one can also detect fine mineral and floral notes. The mouth is very balanced, with good length. There is good fruit concentration (exotic and citrus), with again good minerality. Laying down: this wine will keep for at least 5 years, it will soften over time. Food/wine pairing: it goes very well with shellfish, oysters and fish, also with some white meats, and fine charcuterie.

Our entry-level Riesling is a classy, lively and elegant culinary companion with fresh acidity and moderate alcohol (12.5–13%). Fermented after a short period of maceration at 20°C and left in steel tanks until mid-February, this Riesling has been delighting connoisseurs and novices alike for years. The grapes come from our vineyards in Gedersdorf, which grow on loess and gravel and in which Riesling – which places high demands on the site – obviously feels very much at home.
Riesling Gedersdorf, Buchegger 2020
Lightly crisp, fruity and with a pure line of citrus acidity, this is an attractive wine that's zingy and buzzy. It is ready to drink. It is part of a new venture from the owners of Château de Tracy in Pouilly-Fumé.
Les Marnes Sauvignon blanc IGP, Madame des Fontaynes 2020
This Riesling comes from the sunny Sahara and Nová hora vineyards, which is reflected in the magnificent minerality that is already known in the scent. This is our driest wine with zero sugar content and a pleasant spicy acidity. The higher alcohol content adds fullness to the wine. The scent is elegant and varietal. Tones of ripe ryngle and red apples appear, which are accompanied by a mild spiciness. The taste is full, fresh, underlined by spicy acidity.

The Holzgasse enjoys an almost legendary reputation among our customers. It‘s ‘only’ our entry-level Veltliner, but we make sure that it is a highly expressive, varietally typical wine that allows one to taste the character of the vintage. Uncomplicated, but also full-bodied on the palate. Light & lively to drink, but never less than 12.0% alcohol by volume. Fresh and slightly peppery, but with balanced acidity. In a word: not a ‘simple little wine’, but a real Buchegger wine!

The winery is in the middle of the Wachau in the Danube valley in Austria, which is a particularly favourable area for wine making due to the climate and soil. For generations the family business has placed great value on sustainable wine making. The vineyards in the best locations around Weißenkirchen are individually farmed and cultivated according to their position, the soil and the type of grape. By careful processing during the harvest and wine making, the natural aromas of the different types of grapes are preserved.

The “Old Farmer’s Calendar” on the label of this Sauvignon Blanc tells us about the vintage in which it was made. Jakobi is deeply rooted in our region. The aromatic and elegant Sauvignon Blanc tells us about the year in which it was grown, using the symbols of the Old Farmer’s Calendar. vAlso called ‘Mandlkalender’, it was originally intended for use by the illiterate and remains a cultural heritage of Styria. Supplemented by our own symbols of viticulture, the label recounts the conditions that prevailed in the corresponding vintage. Jakobi Sauvignon Blanc is both lively and harmonious. Its accessible style makes it just perfect for many occasions. A piece of Südsteiermark in the glass!
Sauvignon Blanc JAKOBI, Gross & Gross 2021
High quality wine doesn’t come on its own. It starts in Wittmann vineyards with yield reduction, hand selection of the fruit and a variety of other biodyn-friendly measures throughout the year. In the cellar, gentle pressing is followed by traditional vinification methods. The wines are primarily fermented in traditional large barrels. Selection of grapes from the best Premier Cru sites of the Westhofen hillsides. The typical limestone minerality of our Premier Cru site mingles with grapefruit aromas and a delicate spice that draw on exotic fruits such as papaya and lime. Beautiful freshness.
