Riesling Gedersdorf, Buchegger 2020

The Holzgasse enjoys an almost legendary reputation among our customers. It‘s ‘only’ our entry-level Veltliner, but we make sure that it is a highly expressive, varietally typical wine that allows one to taste the character of the vintage. Uncomplicated, but also full-bodied on the palate. Light & lively to drink, but never less than 12.0% alcohol by volume. Fresh and slightly peppery, but with balanced acidity. In a word: not a ‘simple little wine’, but a real Buchegger wine!

The grapes for our rosé – Zweigelt, Merlot and Pinot Noir – come from small parcels on the terraces of Gedersdorf. For us, the rosé is a classic, fresh & fruity summer wine that one enjoys on mild evenings on the patio or as an accompaniment to food, in which case a second glass is also welcome. It should be light, but not too light; after all the wine should also exhibit character and backbone. Around 12.0% alcohol – that’s just right!
