Cahmpagne Marguet is placed in Ambonnay, a famous village in Montagne de Reims region. Benoit Marguet owns 12 ha of vineyards labeled as Grand Cru, where strictly grows only Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes. The winery's approach, both harvesting and manufacturing, is organic. For example following the lunar cycles.
Marguet Les Crayéres from 100% Chardonnay has a fresh fruity aroma with earthy tones of almonds and minerals. The wine tastes after pears and apples with slight bitter tones of a nutmeg underlining wood character thanks to the wine maturation in the oak barrels. Sublime minty punch.
Very good with pork, shellfish, sea fish with red meat or fresh cheese.
We recommend opening at around 9 °C.
Marguet was founde in Ambonnay in 1905 and since 2004 it is managed by the young Benoît Marguet: he has clear ideas on how to gear the 8 hectares over the villages of Ambonnay and Bouzy. Some other grapes come from Verzy, Mareuil sur Ay, Cumières, Rilly la Montagne. Benoît is particularly sensitive to biological and organic topics and his production is now 100% biodynamic (Demeter certification). His Champagnes are highly expressive and rich in style.
