Wine with a charming scent of blooming beard, gooseberry and fine herbs. North and South, snowy mountains and fertile valleys, alpine and Mediterranean climate. This is precisely the area with an enormous potential to produce truly vinous wines in South Tyrol. Already in the 15th century Roman immigrant "Cornelius" founded the first vineyards on the hill "Bichl" (local dialect), which gave birth to excellent wines. He also founded the "Cornelianus" winery, which was later named after the local village "Girlan". The Sigmundskron Castle (known from the culprit) was inhabited in the 15th century by Archduke Sigismund, who was a great lover of local wine. In 1960, 28 winemakers founded the wine cooperative Colterenzio (Schreckbichl). Today, 290 team members manage over 300 hectares of the best location. It is a brilliant combination of asparagus, baked fish with herbs and a great aperitif. If you do not want to drink it right now, keep the wine for 3 to 5 years in a cool place.
