A wine from an iconic Burgundy winemaker from Gevrey – Chambertin with a long tradition of 13 generations of winemaking. Dugat Py produces one of the most prestigious wines, mostly from Pinot Noir grapes. Their approach is organic (with no use of chemicals). This wine comes from grapes of the oldest vineyards of up to 99 years. The wine ages in the oak barrels for 16 – 18 months, which gives an element of wood and tannins to its taste.
Wine is unfiltered with an earthy ring to it and red ripe fruits tones. Impeccably harmonious in its taste with subtle undertones of red fruit and plum jam. A long, smoothly dissolving aftertaste. In general, the wines from this winemaker, is the best to open after 6 or more years old.
We recommend with dishes as duck, goose or feathered game, or perhaps just by itself and its exquisite taste. Although very untypical for the Burgundy wines, we recommend decanting, before drinking.
